when we feed our GK he is so loud! we feed him plankton every night, after the light is turned off, he comes out. The noises he makes when eating the food is a loud, annoying sound, wish I could tape it and put it on here. anyone else have this prob?

I don't see it as a problem. It's just a characteristic of how they feed. If you don't want the sound effects, try feeding him frozen plankton. It will sink so you no longer have the sucking sound at the surface from the freeze-dried floating plankton

Yeah what is it with the Bala Sharks?? I added two juvies in my 130g tank, and we started hearing this loud "clicking" sound...my first reflex was to check the tank for cracks !!! man i got scared...a week later i realized it was the tiny bala sharks making that noise when they are sucking up the algae from the glass...
Freaky, I can hear them from another appartment in the house lol

yes, we can feed it early and turn the light off, but he feeds whatever time he feels like it...

Think those guys are loud, try sleeping in the same room with an angry pistol shrimp. I liked him too much to get rid of him, but he could really be a pain when he started snapping at the brittle star at 3 AM. Sounded like a capgun going off. Oh, and I have the same issue with my brown ghost knife, it can be pretty loud and its only 6" or so.

Wait wait wait they make a noise? I have a 7" or so BGK and every now and then randomly i hear a "CRACK" noise coming from my tank..... i thought it was just the tank, moving? or something settling, you know? like a natural noise, but is it the FISH? Damn... that explains things for me.
