I bought it as a Fenestratus, but evidently it is not one. It looks a lot like a Bocourti x something else. It's about 6.5" long. Any ideas?

looks either Paratheraps zonatus or P. guttulatus. not sure. any full body shot? could be a hybrid indeed. (the snout is too pointy for a vieja)

Zonatus and Guttulatus don't have those black stripes on the flanks. Actually I'm already 99% sure he's a hybrid; I just want some ideas on his parentage. I know he's a he because of the nuchal hump and the vent.
When in normal colouration (the pics show the stress colouration; my Managuense was owning him), he does look remarkably like this Zonatus though:

A brighter, full body shot would help a lot.
I bought a fish as a fenestratus that turned out to be a zonatus, so who knows.

I reckon that it will turn out to be a hybrid.

Yeah, now it's down to either a hybrid or a uniquely-coloured Paratheraps zonatus. I'll try to get better pics tomorrow. :)
looks unlike any vieja i have ever seen.
the color and body shape from what i can tell is somewhat unfamiliar. the slight bulge of the forehead throws me off. plus the yellowish color too...
seems to me it could be a hybrid.

The bulge means nothing because it's a male, according to the genital papilla. Hmm. What species do you think are his parents?
