hey everyone,
well my 180gallon setup turned into a 220 setup. I had problems with Glasscages.com :swear: so I cancelled my order and bought a 220 from a lfs for $600.00. its a perfecto aquarium. Has anyone heard of these or have one? The tank looks great very well built and heavy. It says optically clear glass is this anything special?. well here's the pics of my DIY stand and the tank.

thanks for all the replys.. I did stain the stand myself. It's bombay mohogany minwax polyshades. Its polyuerithane and stain in one. it goes on with a brush and all the brushstrokes just melt away. I did 2 coats of the polyshades and 2 coats of spray gloss clear poly. I have about $200.00 in the stand with wood and hardware and about 16 hours in time in it. thanks again

my problem was it was supposed to be delivered the 15th of may and they were going to call me the week before and let me know where and when to pick it up. Well friday came and I finally called them and they said they have to move the shipment at least 3 weeks back because they had a lot of added orders. well I hate waiting and I had all my help lined up for this weekend. It's not a huge problem I don't want to knock there product but some people need products on the delivery date. I didn't want 3 weeks to go by and have them move it back another 2 weeks. I am sure their excuse was legit but they should have a cutoff date for when you can order for a delivery. I had my order in 6 weeks in advance so I didn;'t feel I should have to suffer for those that procrastinated. I will say that they were very understanding about cancelling my order though and very nice people to work with..

I don't really have plans but I do have pics to show you most of the build .
this is the frame:
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y189/dodgefreak8/stand1.jpg
I made the stand 1/2" larger both ways than the tank. its 72.5"x24.5"

here is he added support I did so that the frame was sitting with 2x4's between it not just screwed to it

I sheeted it in 3/4" birch plywood and made the doors out of 1/2". . I used standard corner trim for the corners, base trim for the bottom and top and stained it.. if you have any other questions feel free to ask and I will try to describe it better.
