Just wondering. I have a good bit of driftwood but no caves. Plus isn't it difficult to build caves for the larger fish? I mean that would take up a lot of space right?

when i actually had large cichlids (14-16") I just had a couple hiding spots made out of drift wood and plants through-out the tanktank. only built caves when they were smaller sizes (6-10")

i have caves in mine cause i don't have any good drift wood but if i got a good piece of drift wood i'd take alot of stuff out or at least change it i don't really like the looks of flower pots

My Red Devil/Midas tanks are covered with deep gravel....I have big pieces of stone and giant pots for them to play in....

That depends on the size of your tank and you can always use aqurium sealant for putting your own cave system together so that it wont move around, that always cool to do.

I use large flat rocks to build caves.

I have caves in some tanks, but I'm running out of rocks to use lol. I actually am at the point where I have more aquariums than rocks.
