can anyone give any info on this?
i've was lucky to catch a few shots, but they were like wrestling with their throats all blown up, and and one point the locked jaws with each other. i've always thought i had a male and female. i hope this is some kind of premating ritual, before a big dance peraps?
any help would be great.
thanks in advance.
From your pictures it looks like you have got a male and female. Spot on the end of the dorsal fin on the male not on the female. It does look like territorial behaviour.
Unfortunately putting a male and female together does not guaranty a pair. A pair will form naturally within a group then they usually eliminate others.

Nice pics by the way.
As long as they are not causing any real physical harm I would leave them to see if they get passed it.
Does any one of them show any dominace over the other or are they fairly equal?
Does the tank have enough volume to allow the other to escape?

well, its a 3' and it holds 150liters. and i really think that its plety of room for the fish at this size.
thanks for your complimetns. i was really lucky.
i hope they get past it, they've been together for months. and always real cool. the male (w/ the spot) dominates with these duels, but most o the time it's a very passive tank, wxcpet the last few days since they've been doing this.
i'm hoping its just a puberty thing, and i hope they get it on!
thanks agian. anymore feedback is welcome : )
