i have had two female melachromis auratus for a while and they follow each other around. i just added a male but he is smaller and was constantly under attack the first day by the two females but now they ignore him. will they breed with him even though hes smaller and probably weaker?

They may or may not.
Also, are you sure it's a male? Females will take on dominant male colors depending on their tankmates.

if it were a she, would it return to its female colors since it is no longer dominant?

the auratus had really bad skin when i got it and it only got worse. started floating towards the surface tail up and soon couldnt control where it wanted to swim. fed it peas but it died a little after that.
so i went and bought a new male auratus a little bit smaller and 5x 1 inch ones. the two females were too agressive so i moved them out.

does anyone know what size auratus begin to change color. i know its around the 6-9 month phase but what size is that?
