Hi all! I have a 29 gallon that has been running for a while now but now I want to make it planted because I dont like the bare-bottom look
I want to make a planted tank with my baby german blue rams living in there
-Are Rams compatible with plants?
-Where can you find good looking pebbles, stones, and rocks?
-Should I use regular gravel or flourite?
-What plants are suitable for the 29 gallon?
I want to try to get the rams to breed one day so any plants that could be part of its natural habitat would be great
Also,
-What equipment do I need?
Thanks!

Read the sticky for beginners, that is why I wrote it.

Actually, I did read the stickies before I posted this up but they dont answer some of the questions I have...
-Are Rams compatible with plants?
-Where can you find good looking pebbles, stones, and rocks? (Home depot?)
-Should I use regular gravel or flourite?

Rams will be just fine.
In your yard, at a landscaping place, home depot/lowes
If you really want plants to grow, use eco complete or any of the seachem substrates, flourite. reg gravel doesn't have nutrients for the plants to utilize.

does flourite run out of nutrients eventually?

Yes it does, but it lasts longer than most others IME. Aquasoil is the exception to that.

Exactly how long? before I have to change it?
or can I just keep the nutrient-gone flourite in there

If you want the benefits of flourite, then you have to change it approximately once every year and a half.
