last time i measured he was about a foot head to tail. He is slightly bigger now so only a little over a foot. Glad you like him.

Nice fahaka! How long have you had him? How large is the tank?

Thank you. I bought him a little over a year ago. I think he was around three inches then. The tank is a 120g.

sweet puffer. you and your puffer are in desperate need of a uv steriilizer. i feel bad for your puffer because he has to live in that muck. don't mean to be a dick but....

It's just algae. it does more good than harm, it's scraped off tanks mainly because it doesn't look great, but its not harmful.

that is a dick thing to say. The tank water is crystal clear and the parameters are great. Personally, I like having algae on the back glass so I do not have to see the wall or the filters.

cool fish. And a little algae never hurt anyone. If you like it, no problem. How does he hunt? Ambush?

Yeah, really! It's only unsightly algae. The fish doesn't care about it at all. Only harmfull to the human eye. ;) As long as the water changes are large enough & often (50% weekly), the algae is only a matter of astetics.

When I put crayfish in the tank he actively hunts them. It took two or three before he learned the correct maneuvers to avoid being pinched. Now he is a pro and its all over quickly.
