Has anyone had any success with this? I have seen once on tv two large archer fish together in a tank and they seemed healthy and not to be bothering each other. Has anyone else done this themselves?

I always see them in groups - not sure about just two's.

Yeah that does seem to be the case however I can't afford to house a large group of them. I just think that maybe mine would be happier with another fish as they stay with others in the wild usually.

I have two and they're fine. Been together a while. No problems.

I first started with two, they were about the same size, they were absolutely fine for months, then I introduced two smaller archers, and now they are all together as a group.

Well I have my new one. There was a little bit of territorial chasing to start out with and the new one which is slightly smaller hid for a little while however they are slowly growing used to living together. The little one doesn't hide half as much as it did at first. :) At the moment I am trying to teach it how to spit.

Please let me know how this turns out. I have a 55 gallon, with an archer and a moray in it. I would like to add one possibly 2 more archers to the tank soon.

Well I have good news for you as the small archer has taken a liking to the big one. And now spends a lot of time following it around the tank. It's going great and I couldn't be happier. Just try to make sure that there isn't too much size difference between the archers :)

I wouldn't add 3 archers to a 55, they just get too large for it. Two would be fine for awhile.

They just need a bit more space.

Here are my two archers. The smaller one is the boss.http://pics

My big one has unfortunately turned into a bully I am hoping that this will slowly go away. I am trying to keep feeding to mostly pellets as the smaller one eats more of these than the larger this will hopefully allow it to catch up in growth and give it a better chance of holding its own within the tank.

they will most likely be fine if the small one gets bigger

What are the water parameters? Salinity and things?

They are not usually aggressive with each other but do compete for food.
