Ignore the member above.
A hybrid is a cross between two different species, for example, if a cat and a dog were to mate, their babies would be hybrids. Same goes for fish, etc. Even if closely-related species (example, a Jaguar Cichlid and a Motaguense Cichlid) mated, their babies would also be hybrids.

There's alot of fish that will cross with an electric yellow but if you want to create hybrids, dont sell them. Its already hard enough getting a pure strain of electric yellows.

what do you mean "pure strain of electric yellows"? and what is an example of a fish that would create hybrids?

Some people want to keep fish because they offer certain characteristics.
The electric yellows for examples have some of the most brilliant yellows you may ever see, but when you start to mix them with other species they may begin to lose these traits. This inturn losses the "purestrain"
Too many hobbiest are already mixing stuff together and then sold as something they are not. This confuses newer people in the hobby and can really mess things up.
Hope this helps.

oh! so you are saying that if i do get fish to make hybrids with my labs that i should not sell the true labs then? or i shouldn't sell the hybrids?
