Does any one know why some of the stingers does not grow straight ?

The stingers on my rays sometimes tend to turn slightly upwards. Is this what yours do? Not sure why.

I dont have any ray like this... i was just wondering why some times i see ray's stinger grow left or right
I've seen my larger rays stingers grow slightly upwards figured it was normal... any imput...
never seen any stinger grown lef or right.. only slightly upwards just like nic and spotfin says

maybe it has something to do with the replacement stinger which has to grow under or the way they sting.

I have seen them go left, right, up and twist. The strange part is that just because it does it once, does not mean it will do it the next time.

Twisted stinger? Yikes. Ive just seen left or right.
Maybe an injury to the growing stinger could cause it to grow wierd?

ya, cuz i saw 2 rays at a lfs, and they both have it toward the left.. but the owner was saying the previous stinger was dead on straight... very strange.. i thought i bring it up here to get some ideas from ppl on mfk
