good luck, make sure you introduce all the fish into the tank at the same time. you could try a midas or devil or any of the large aggressive cichlids. you could also put in a catfish and try that

What is the best way to test his agression? Would it be worth a shot to put him in my 300? I thought about it but i was afraid my jag would kick his ass. the jag is 12", there is a 10" oscar a 12" clown knife, 14" albino channel cat and my 24" arowana.

in a 300 you might be ok. depends on how aggressive the jag is. they can be bastards. the fh is usually a tough customer though so id bet at 9" he might be ok. id throw him in right after a big water change and major tank redocorating. if you see signs over over aggression or relentless harassment then remove him.

dont you mean such a thug. or such a pimp. come on man. this is MFK we shouldnt have any room for CUTE fish. know what i mean. little goldfish are cute. FH's are supposed to be big powerful manly fish. and the fact that yours isnt OVERLY aggressive yet may stem from the fact that he is only 7". their attitude grows with them. most FH's are mean fish.

LOL!!! even if he becomes a thug, he looks cute for such a mean ****er.

your right cm they do have a rap as a mean fish, but some are more docile than others. it all ocmes down to the individual fish.

then i cant say mine is not overly aggressive

the true answer we will have to find when he become a full grown adult :FIREdevil

I moved him in a couple days ago and the oscar messed with him for a while, but he is fine now. He staked out his part of the tank and seems happy. If he gets out of like the Jag checks him really quick.

I would go with a large parrot as a tank mate.

There is another post right above this one asking about tank mates I posted what I have mine in with there check it out. I would not recomend a devil or midas though they would almost sertainly be tempted to challange each other. Most large agressives will work if given the space. I do agree with who ever said introduce at the same time though. This way he wont try and claim the whole tank as his! Good luck man.

I like the options presented, but my two cents:
currently I have a small-ish FH, who lives with a beautiful Texas, a pair of blood parrots, a yellow pike, a synopdontis, polkao dot cat, pleco and clown loach.

From what I have seen in my FH's temperment, 'he' doesn't cause any trouble, but he certainly doesn't back down from anyone either!
