View Full Version : 2 spot pike
I got my first Pike a few months ago, a 1'' two-spot pike. He went from 1'' to 10'' maybe even a bit larger in 4 months! I thouhgt this was pretty crazy and i thouhgt these guys only get to about 8-10''? He/she is in a 75g with a plec and a 3'' green texas, with ots of driftwood. I love him/her to bits but is very sensitive to light and freaks out normaly when i get close to the tank. sometimes he smashes himself pretty bad. Is normal for pikes o be so sensitve? I pretty much have to creep up slowwwlllllly to amke him/her not freak.

I have never had that kind but mine never freaked out like that. Although they would get all black when the lights were turned on. Just give him time. He will come around.

never known any pike other than my tiger to be skittish. Especially around 6".

My acutirostris used to do that when I first got them. I stopped making sudden moves around them. Also, fasting them for a week changed their attitude a little. Now they shake their heads at me. Hurry up and drop that food in here ******e! (Can I say that?) :confused:

Aye, pikes can be skittish and hide when they are smaller...as they get more size though they get much more bold! ;)....btw...can you post some pictures of the two spot pike....sounds kinda like a type of Saxatilis pike...but not sure...
