http://www.aquariumfish.net/catalog_pages/sharks_eels_loaches/loach_clown.htm

Size and Life Span
Clown Loaches rarely grow larger than 6" in an aquarium and can live at least 6 years. Occasionally very large wild Clown Loaches are imported that are 12" long and sometimes even longer. These Clown Loaches may be much older than 6 years.

They rarely grow larger than six inches because of poor care!

The average aquarium is less then 55 gallons. Along with an average level of experiance and this info is somewhat correct. But this should not be posted into the site.

Just found this on the same site;

" a maximum of 1/4 inch of gravel"

WTF? My 2" clown can dig through almost .75" of gravel. My 4" clown can have 1" of its body under gravel if it thinks there is a nice treat beneath. A simple 1/4" is like the same as saying we need to sleep on a bed 5 peices of cardboard thick.

thats the web know a days anybody can get a site and say what they wan't

i allways use more gravel then that other then the extra wieght and the less space i don't see why you would have a limet on the level of gravel its harder to clean but gives alot more places for bacteria and other little helpers to grow and hide
