The top is a dog fish (some kinda shark)
the little buggers were mostly smaller than the stripers and interrupted the tournament quite often by stealing bait. i love fishing for just bout anything but we had a mission on this trip.
This was in the norfolk chesapeak area of Va.
and thanks

Nothing against keeping fish for dinner:) Large stripers like those pictured are most often females.
Was the tournament for raising money for children?

thank you, and yes it was kindof part of toys for tots. and the 3 G's my team got for firts place also went to the little brats funds (there goes my plasma tv, but i didnt really need it anyway)
my favorite recipie is when my dad puts the striper fillets into a cassarole dish, and then you add a bunch of quality lobster bisk to cover or almost fully cover the meat. Then you put it in the oven on 350 untill it is done. serve it over some rice,..... OMG it is amazing!

Sounds like a tasty recipe. Striper is also in my top favorite fish to eat. I think its great that catch regulation are so tight on the species.

^ depends where you are at, Va seems less restricrive than most other states.
18-34" you can keep 2
34" + you can have one

In Alabama you can keep up to 20 or something like that and 6 can be over 16" or something. I can't remember the regs exactly.

In Maine, you are allowed one striper per day. Has to be 20-26" or over 40". Commercial fishing regulations will change soon I hope.
