Illegal in all US states and territories with the exception of Maryland allowing the keeping of dwarf tropical species. However, those SHs had to already be in the state since federal law still makes shipping/transporting SHs across state lines a felony.

No, the real unfortunate thing is that there were too many stupid people allowed to have snakeheads in the past that didn't know how to care for them properly.
yeah that was a proublem they see those little red line fish and get one to find that a few months later it can turn around in its 10 gallen and its killed or eaten its tankmates the one guy in maryland that let it go into that pond had no intention of keeping the fish he bought it to help his sick wife but she got better and as a tredition of his people they would let the fish go guese he didn't know that thats kind of a felony offence
