There is currently 2 different species og Mastacembeus eels and totally 3 individuals in my 100 gallon tank, 1 Mastacembelus erythrotaenia and 2 armatus. They live in good harmony, only the fire eel gets a bit grumpy if someone gets to his caves/ territory. Nothing to worry about.

Nice eels,we never seemed to have luck with eels but got fire eel two weeks ago, went back 5 days later and got another from same tank where they had been spending all time together lying side by side, and the first one harassed second so bad we had to seperate within 5 minutes or we would have had only one left.Guess the first liked his new territory and wasnt about to share.

Very nice! I lost my 2'' fire eel this last year. I used to have a large tiretrack that would stick it's head three or four inches out of water and eat from my hand. Loved him!

My tiretrack is notorius for jumping the lip on my overflow box and spending weeks at a time living in the filter

I also just found an African Ropefish I bought over a year ago living in the filter. He disappeared the night i got him and i always just assumed he was eaten by my tiger shovelnose cat (who also happened to "accidentally" swallow a 9" clown knife)

Awesome tank!
I love matecembelus eels!

I recently had a young fire eel with my young tire track eel- called them Boudin and Dunlop- Boudin was my sweetie- unfortunately he was also too curious and explored my filter attachment, and got squished. :(

Dunlop is now king of the tank, growing fast-

What's that for? Need your post ey? Just leave a comment, "bumping" use is IMO no contribution to the threat.

Nice! I particularly like the fire eel, he's got an almost dog-like expression on his face.

i had an 8" peacock eel living in my filter for a little over a week, i thought he'd jumped out somehow, i went to clean out the filter and was scared half to death when he jumped out of there
