They look like the same pikes that were listed in the buy and sell. Sounds like he is keeping them to me.
As for as gender I see one female maybe two. Need better pics of the dorsals to tell.

Female will have a white stripe along the top of the dorsal. The one in the first post with the dorsal flared up and the white along the top of dorsal is a female.
The one below the female in third pic, in first post appears to be a female also, but hard to tell if it has a white edging or not for sure.

You're new? I thought you had that spectacular Crenicichla strigata in your other show tank! LoL! You'll definately have a blast with these marms.....they are superb fish. I also got them myself...lol. You might end up kicking yourself though for not getting all three if that pair bond breaks. Heres to hoping it lasts! :D BTW...glad to have yaz as part of the gang! You'll quickly get addicted I think! :D

Rio Tapajos, Rio Trombeta, Rio Xingu, and I have read of Rio Madeiri. Rio Tapajos is the Variant the Wayne Leibel bred, his article is on Vin Kutty's site. A very nice variant,
which is what it looks like you have. But my favorite is the Rio Trombeta variant.
The one you see in my avatar is mine. I was told it is a Rio Trombeta but I am waiting for it to color out to be sure.
