Why don't you want any food that adds weight? All of the foods will do that....You could try some mustard greens, or turnip greens....They are a good food...

I just let my Plecos Scavange what they can most of the time. Other than that the occasional veggie greens or algae disc is good.
ihope your only kidding me?!?!?!?!

I think he means food that doesn't need a weight to make it sink to the bottom for them. Right?
thank you for understanding!!!!!!!

This is what I do also. I just let them feed on what ever they can get and the algea.
I occasionally throw in some zucchini.

My big plecos vacuum up all the rabbit pellets they can get. These pellets have a higher crude protein level, and lower ash content, than most algae wafers but, only costs me $17 for a 50lb bag.

I feed all my L numbers and "Plecos" Frozen Prawns, Bloodworm, Zuccani, Cucumber, Spinach, Hikari Algae Wafers, Sera Alage Crisps and Bogwood (very important) and I use Screwcumbers to hold them down.

You should never just let Plecos SCAVENGE :WHOA: what they can find as that is not what they do in the wild, Plecos are more like Cow's then Vultures they need lots of green food because they do not get much protein out of these foods that is why you need to feed them every night with plenty of greens and make sure you have at least a few pieces of wood in the tank.
There is not many foods that will sink that you can feed your Plecos and sinking foods that have to much protein in it will bloat and kill your Plecs if you feed them to much.
If you are to LAZY to sink food for your Plecos you do not deserve to own any of this amazing fish.

oddball gave me this potatos and kiwi sink fine and green peas they really like the spuds easy does it though dont want to call jenny craig
mine can't get enough of cucumber, and although slices float, if u submerge them in water first they will sink.
potatoes sink but i heard u should soak these to get rid of starch or something that can effect the water quality. not sure if is true?
