beefheart, crabmeat, mussels, prawns, market shrimp, silversides, fish filets, sinking or floatinf pellets, algae tabs, squid, octopus, hotdogs, sometimes vegetable slices, and when they get bigger, you can feed them live mice and such. they will eat almost anything

 It's not an actual cat
I think a mouse now and then isn't a problem as I'm sure they eat the occasional small (or not so small) furry mamal in the wild:D I just wouldn't make a habit of it. Everything Sturgeon said is great along with some melon pieces(and other fruits) and some veggies. RTCs seem to be opportunistic omnivorous scavengers.

I only feed mine which is around the same size once a day... mind you I feed him till it looks like he's swallowed a golf ball, He's perfectly happy and growing faster than my 1 yr son which is quick LOL

I beleive that if you want your RTC to be happy and not chasing it's tankmates around the tank... keep em fed!.. Personally I'm also going for a size thing with mine... I want em HUGE!
