Whats a good bottom dweller, that has no problem getting food, will come up to the top to feed, but will mostly stay at the bottom of the tank, and is semi active? I was thinking birchirs?
I need some for my 240gallon tank.
the stocklist for the 240 as of now is :
1x shortnoose gar.
1x longnoose gar.
4x peacock bass.
2x asian northern pike
possibly 2-3 silver arowanas.
1x barrumdi
thanks
~ matt.
Dont say the tanks already gona be overstocked, dont wana hear it..
its got 2 x 45gallon wet/dry filters on it, with a 3x turn over rate, and a 24/7 w/c on it. Tank will be kept at 82*, and has a small layer of black sand on the bottom, 2 nice size peices of drift wood in the corners, and some fake plants siliconed to the back of the dw that floats to the top and provides some shade on the top ( mainly to hide the overflows, and the pvc return lines ).
all the fish will be moved into the 360gallon when they get over 20"

My planiceps would feed anywhere in the tank. Was a great fish too. MY RD killed him :rip

I keep 10 polypterus in my 240 with my Silver Arowana. They let the Arowana swim freely...I love to watch him cruise around.
I'll be adding a couple of Dats when they get big enough to not get eaten.
GOOD LUCK!!!

:( R.I.P.
I would have added my 18" royal pleco, but my dad killed him. rather not do plecos, because I dont wana have to go outa my way to sink some veges or meat to the bottom.

i know. just thought i should put that out there, about the plecos.
yeah with a load of preds it might be difficult to get food to the bottom. I think bichirs could be a good choice. Also moved to bottom dwellers lol

not aggressive, but can hold their own. I consider them cool looking smaller versions of channel cats. I've seen them range in price from $7-250 bucks lol

not to bad :D. Gona go look around on the vendors forums and see if they have any.
found my first thread on the wolfish, phil says " my 18" wolffish wont tollerate tankmates, no matter the size". so i'm guessing thats outa the question.
