guys. do arrowana need sunlight escpecially the red once.

does it affect their color?

yes, brings out the colors out more. ask your LFS for a NAN light, that will also help with color

My silver gets a lot of natural light and looks awesome for it.

Natural sunlight is used by Arowana competition champion keepers to really improve red color in there arowanas, read this article on how to do it and the results by Joseph Tan who has won some competitions using an ordinary low grade Super Red. http://www.aquarticles.com/articles/breeding/Tan_Joseph_Raising_A_Winner.html

Also check out Steve_89's Leichardti, he has his outside and it gets plenty of sunlight and the red is amazing, looks like a Red Asian from on top. Use the search button.

your right he does, can't really tell if the material is thin enough for sun to go through though :nilly:
