hello, I have not seen any Leichardti around me and i want one. Can anyone tell me the common price for a small one, and also if you know any reputable online sites to order one from? Also, how fast do they grow and how big do they top off at? would a 125 be big enough? 180?
125 would not be big enough, 180 would be pushing it for maybe 2 years. They are very hard to come by you might never see one in a LFS. Rich the vendor for Infinite Aquatics in the vendor forum still has some, they are usually 200+ he is selling 3" ones for 65 dollars + shipping. Really cheap probably the cheapest you will ever find them.

For only being on the board for a month, you seem to be quite informative :)

I have had a silver but i only had a 180 and i gave him away, knowing my tank would become too small. I would like to try a jardini, but have read of their super agressiveness. I want to be able to keep more than one fish in the tank :) The aro would be in a 72 bow until it it big enough to go into a 125 with big fishies. I also have an empty 180 that I would rather NOT set up, seeing as i dont have nearly enough room.

Well your right about going for the leich if you want other fish, but that 125 would probably be good for a 1 or 2, depending on your leich's aggression he might also go psycho and try to jump out, Steve_89 had his leich in a 180 and it refused to stay there and now he has it in a pond/pool :)

By "a 1 or a 2" do you mean how many inches the fish would be, or how many months/years the fish could stay there, or what?
woops i made a spelling error, i meant years.

okay. 1 or two years is alright by me, means I will have plenty of time to either
a) Get a 240-300g
b) Find someone who already has said 240-300g and wants a gorgious aro :)
If I set up the 180 in a year or two would it be big enough for life?
no, i already said steve_89's arowana would refuse his 180 because it was getting to big, from what i read it went crazy i don't know personally you could pm him and ask for his advice.

leis will be around in better numbers in January and February. They harvest fry in Nov Dec, but are too small to ship (5cm). By Jan, they're big enough (8cm) to ship with success.

I found one this morning in my living room, so I would rate how difficult they are to find at "moderate",LOL.
You see that was funny because I typed "LOL" after it......

hmmh after i read sirhappyfish's post i decided ill go looking in my living room to go find one, i turned my chair around and just as i was going to get up bam i saw a leichardti, amazing. I would rate it as Moderate as well because i couldn't find one turned in this position.
oh i forgot the LOL, because as stated above that makes it funny :) so LOL, and as extra protection against h8 quotes, LMAO, and one more just in case ROFL.

really...? well i'll be damned, a moderatly priced fish in Australia, lol. I find jardini harder to come by in my area, and they cost a fair bit more too.
I love my toga, he has really settled in and isn't skitish at all.
