i bought an orange pike from the local petco i ahd for a while now. do orange pikes grow slow . i have one with a butti and a dwarf gar, i mean he hides alot but seem the same size as when i got it months ago i mean his stomach is fat but no length to him.
 
What do you have with him. Mine never hides, but I have him with others. They don't grow as fast as some others, but they will pick up as they get to 6-7".
 
slow grower but big appetite, will hide when small and loves caves and other good hiding spots will eat flakes, frozen, pelets and live foods when small very aggressivce to other small fish great killer
 
I think with these guys it depends on the personality sometimes mine never hides and is a real aggressive eater. He loves cichlid pellets and bloodworms, but I have also seen the exact opposite occur.. Mine went from 4'' to 10'' in about 4 months but again is very active!!
 
maybe a touch more, but yeah about 12-14 inches......It'll start growing steadily, maybe not as fast as a Butti though, those grow very fast.
