Simple answer no Florida gars reach 3 feet and a 90 gallon tank is 18inches wide.In fact you can't keep any true gar in a 90 gallon tank for life sorry -Anne

im thinkin i will trade him in when he is as long as the tank is wide, the longnose i mean. i was thinkin fl gars will take longer to reach that length because they max out at 3ft. i probably should have got a fl instead of the longnose. what do you think i should do?
bigger tank or pond would be nice but i live with my parents being that im 15 so that is not lookin to probable

nice fish
Problem with most gars is that they grow very fast up to 12"-16" and only then slow down so your tank is impractical even in the short term.Perhaps try what are commonly known as gar fish as opposed to true gars, try this link http://fish.mongabay.com/ctenoluciidae.htm

i have kept hjeta gars and they were cool and really fast but i really like true gars better.
other than that ive yet to see any other species of "gar fish"
i guess i will just trade them when they get too big

''im thinkin i will trade him in when he is as long as the tank is wide''Your thinking is flawed
a gar needs 6-12 inches in order to turn comfortably in a tank therefore a 1 foot gar is almost to big for a tank 18''wide-Anne
Besides hujeta gars you will see on link I gave you spotted and striped pike characins, not true gars but gar type fish. They grow bigger than hujetas but will be more comfortable in the confines of your tank than true gars.
