might be refering to one of the moramid species (elephant nose). See those called dolphins too sometimes.

I doubt we are talking about the mammal, I am almost certain there are no african freshwater dolphins, (could be wrong) I think they are S.A. and Asian only.

THere's also the mahi mahi refered to as a dolphin fish (salt water)
