Why won't my gar....

My friend has a alligator gar and it just bites the feeder fish and half, and now his filter is getting jammed with half eaten feederfish what should he do????

I would guess that if this is the case and the fish is just killing the food rather than eating it that the fish is starved and the feeder fish are much to large for the fish to handle.

I would suggest smaller or different prey items.

The gar my just be doing this for fun it's probably bored.

Try smaller feeders and feeding only on at a time.
