In an issue of my AFM, it suggests to give a crayfish a 30 second saltwater dip when you just get it, so that any parasites will drop off. It says to use a cup of salt in a gallon of water. Would this be a good idea?

A short dip can get rid of some external parasites and parasites that live in the gills. Are you trying to use these as feeders?

Nope, I just want to take care of the crayfish. After all, getting rid of parasites would benefit the crayfish, right?

Never heard of this, but it sounds like it makes perfectly good sense. And since its only 30 seconds that also sounds fine, I've seen them live quite a bit longer than 30 seconds when being fed to SW Puffers and such....

You may need to do the conversions to imperial though.
