Alright, I've asked this question a few times but I haven't gotten a response yet. I'm looking to decorate my 75 gallon for my red-texas , and I have some ideas floating around in the old noggin. I want to use the LITTLE gi joe characters but I'm afraid they might be toxic for the fish. I also have some little army vehicles. I plan on siliconing them down so they don't float away. I was wondering if there are anyother precautions I should take to make sure its safe to put them in the water.
they are plastic for sure. I'm not sure with some of the vehicles however. Maybe ill just stay away from those. SHould i try putting some fish in there for a few days, too see if they suddenly die off before putting in the texas?
Make sure that G.I. Joe doesn't have metal in his knees/elbows/any other moving parts. Other than that you can put them in a tank with fish and see if the fish survive. If they make it for a few weeks then it's probably safe to say they aren't poisoning your fish.
yeah, its the little gi joe in a bucket type deal. I figured i could throw a few tinfoil barbs in there when im done decorating and see if they dont die or show any signs of stress in a week or two.
