Alright, I've asked this question a few times but I haven't gotten a response yet. I'm looking to decorate my 75 gallon for my red-texas :), and I have some ideas floating around in the old noggin. I want to use the LITTLE gi joe characters but I'm afraid they might be toxic for the fish. I also have some little army vehicles. I plan on siliconing them down so they don't float away. I was wondering if there are anyother precautions I should take to make sure its safe to put them in the water. :)

Thanks

Well, I am no scientist, but if there all plastic, I would try it. But I would be wary of metal, incase of rusting... Theres my 2 cents

they are plastic for sure. I'm not sure with some of the vehicles however. Maybe ill just stay away from those. SHould i try putting some fish in there for a few days, too see if they suddenly die off before putting in the texas? :)

Make sure that G.I. Joe doesn't have metal in his knees/elbows/any other moving parts. Other than that you can put them in a tank with fish and see if the fish survive. If they make it for a few weeks then it's probably safe to say they aren't poisoning your fish.

is it those little green soldiers that come in a bucket?
yeah thats is what I am thinking

It should be ok, just silicone them in place like you said.....sounds like a sweet idea to me bro. It is all about trial and error

I think that there is not enough metal in them to cause problems, not sure about the dye in the clothing thouugh.

yeah, its the little gi joe in a bucket type deal. I figured i could throw a few tinfoil barbs in there when im done decorating and see if they dont die or show any signs of stress in a week or two. :D
