Thought I'd share this with you. Post about what to feed a snapping turtle and garter snake has such helpful and accurate advice as;

"cabbage, or leafy stuff like humans eat."

"Lettuce"

"Kale, Romaine Lettuce, oranges..."

And this nugget of wisdom;

"Turtles eat insects, and LOTS of them! If for some reason insects aren't plentiful in your area, you can purchase crickets at most pet food stores and/or places like Meijers and K-Mart.

As you've discovered, your little snake pal enjoys munching on very small rodents. Snakes also enjoy eggs of all kinds"

I wonder if they realize different species of turtles might just eat different things...

When I had snappers they were always kept on an exclusive diet of HotPocketsŪ and Tang.

I think they are user answers not Yahoo staff members. I think anyone that has a Yahoo account can answer there.

Nice...did you have a special supply of tang, or did you just mix the tang right into the tank water? :D

That is some great advice though.:screwy: I think those forums in general are great for entertainment, but just like EYG said...anyone who has an account can post.

I recommend pouring the Tang mix into your filter for a nice, even consistency. Sometimes I would even add Swedish Fish to spice things up. :grinno:

Whenever I see a venomous reptile, I instantly get down on all fours, open my mouth wide and attempt to pick it up with my mouth then swing it about by its tail in my mouth.
I learned all my handling techniques from watching videos of cobra handlers in India.
