Need Some Help..

I might be adopting a 'special needs' bearded dragon, and I'm not sure what to do for him exactly;

He has 'nubs'(as the owner put it) for legs, and I'm not sure what I should do... What kind of substrate would be best, since he'd be on his belly 24/7 ?

I know that I could hand feed him.

This guy sounds like a bad breeder, because he has a bunch of others for sale and a few with metabolic bone disease and a special needs iguana for sale..

He's trying to sell the guy with nubs for $10..

Uhhhhh....what do you mean by "nubs"? I'd use sand and keep it very clean, seeing as the lizard will be...slugging?... around on it.

soft sand they sell it as desert sand and its zoomed or t rex that makes it. That would be the best option. It can be found in petco and petsmart about the only thing theyre good for in terms of reptiles.

yeah.. I'll see if I can get it free, it'll be alot more work for me than a normal one, and he'll probably end up killing it if he can't get rid of it.

By nubs(I haven't seen it) I guess he means just the beginning of legs.

I'll see about getting him..

Since his siblings have metabolic bone disease, I don't want to tank chances with him..
Other than calcium powder to put on his bugs, what is a good way to make sure he gets enough?

mine seemed twice as healthy when i gave time now and then out in the sunlight.I saw one the other day with no feet,maybe thats whats up.

i know its nuts,that one i saw was at a shop in a small mountain town and the sign on the cage said thats what happens when the females stay with the males after breeding,this happened while it was an adult,omfg!Its also bs because i bread them for years and the males always dominated so who knows.I bet it was a larger male that was probably starving.bit the poor things feet off.They pry fed it ice lettuce and kept it on aquarium gravel too.

Well I called the guy, he told me (laughing a bit while he said it) that his friend put it in a half land/half water viv.
... well you can probably guess what happened.

He obviously doesn't care much at all for these beautiful creatures.
They're just a way for him to make some $... like alot of dog breeders.
