Wow really nice page. Royals are great pleco's. They work overtime for greens- algae, veggies and veggie disc's.

royals require a good portion of meat in their diet too though, don't they?

I have about 100lbs of driftwood in the tank and the royal is slowly ginding it all to dust. He does eat meat protein from the sinking catfish pellets. He also tears up the occassional crayfish I throw in (softshell).

Very nice, huge pleco. Doesn't it take forever to grow one up that size? I think most large ones are caught that way. I use to have a small one and it seemed to never grow.

I love Panaque, But I dont love the trail they leave behind! Make sure you have wood for them to eat. (what am I up to now?)

Beauties, They also grind depressions into sandstone and love the occasional earth worm, but then who does'nt?
