If this was there first mating, then don't expect too many, if any of the eggs to hatch. Not to worry though, you'll probably find them doing this about every four weeks or so for the next couple of months.

Tank is a 125 g. Just put them in it a couple weeks back for this reason and hope. They are around 2 years giver or take a month as I picked them up at a solid 2-2.5" He is over 15" just barely.. Measured 15" a month or two ago.. She is on or above 12-13"

I had to turn the power head back on in the love shack.. And Only have the eggs I pulled to tumble..

I was planning on this event happening about 3 months from now.. As that is when I was going to be prepared... But will update on the eggs in the tumbler.. I was concerned about the non adhesion to the rock.. And rightly so.. I think they will get it better the next time ;)

Tongue's got a decent sized local-support-system (i.e. other peoples tanks) that could easily accommodate the overflowing mono fry...Tongue, you know Bob Allen would grow some up if you asked him.

Not good.. I believe it is do to the fact they keep laying on a piece of rock is not suitable for adhesion.. So the eggs roll off.. Though I am changing that this week.. I believe that once they stick the male can properly inseminate them.

Hopefully the new additions of rock facilitate this ;)

This is only the second spawn for these two... So it is amazing that like any first tiers.. They did not eat the eggs ;)

I got my RO off of E-bay. It is a 75GPD unit and only cost me $95. Normally a unit this size runs several hundred dollars.

Trust me, I undertand how the little brats can suck the life right out of your hobby! LOL Good thing they make up for it in other ways!!

You might want to call Culligan and see if they have any rental programs in your area. I know that when I lived in SoCal, Culligan charged me $10 a month to rent an RO unit. They installed it and serviiced it as part of the rental agreement at no extra charge. It only did 10GPD but that's better than nothing...

yea agreed.. i have a tek t5 fixture that i used for my sps coral tank but i couldnt deal with the work and broke it down after 4 years. so i have the fixture just laying laying around now. its a 4 bulb unit. i used to run 2 12ks and 2 artinics. i think im going to buy 2 6700 k bulb and run it with the 12k and a blue artinic which is a 20k bulb. what do you think?

They get along all the time... Wait that;s a lie... Right before...During.. and after breeding is kinda interesting :D First the male tries to put the female in check... Then the female kicks his tail.... Then she lays eggs.. Allows him to fert then kicks his tail some more.. I try to remove as many as I can late of course... I get a bruise or two on my palm or hand or forearm... Then it is back to two peas in a pod.....

Right now they are suckin down market shrimp and Frosen Brine.. Stil the market shrimp has to be Cut SMALL...

They are here and there taking pellets.. But not enough to say they are trained... Or ready to go over... But At thsi rate... A pund of market shrimp medium.... Would last 4-5 of them for about 3 mor months at VERY LEAST!! LOL

The water is HARD...

pH is usually between 7-7.8

Temp... Ranges from 84-88 degrees I like 86 myself.. but have become a little lazy on that...

Water changers are From the Hose... And COLD.. :)

I don't bother with much of the rest of it anymore.. As the tank takes care of itself... The fish look EXCELLENT... And I couldn;t be happier with the colors... :) Hope that helps :)

Well the short vacation changed the feeding schedule... And there may have been a misfeedign while I was gone.. I caught wind of it.. But am unsure what exactly happened... This batch is no longer :( But they are the longest batch to live with so many with the parents so far :) the feeding schedule is in my opinion the Gauranteed issue in this loss..

they need to eat every few hours and I was gone for around 72 hours... :) Anyway :) Waiting for the next one :)
