£25 not quite how much that is in dollars!! not the cheepest but i've seen zebra plecs at £150 :WHOA: but there so nice :drool: couldn't afford that so went with this snowball plec.
I find 2 fish being sold as snowball plecos, one is the L-102 peckoltia that gets around six inches long and runs $50-$60 US. The other is the larger L-033 baryancistrus that gets to about 10"s and is a bit cheaper, around $30 US, both are listed as good gommunity fish but with a tendency to fight amongst their own species. At today's rate of exchange 25 pounds UK equals $44.33 US. Nice fish.

i recently picked up one of these guys. it was sold to me as a snowball also but i really havent been able to identify the L number since there are a couple that are very similar. planet catfish states that snowball plecos can be diferenciated by a solid black band at the end of the tail and dorsal fin. i havent noticed this in mine. his fins seem to be solid black w/ no band. i think the common name of the other similar fish was large white spot pleco.

I paid £25 for my 11" Common Pleco and he's a real monster ... ha ha
