Okay I have a problem. I built my DIY canopy and thought it looked pretty decent but I mistakenly stained it a different color. Now my canopy is darker than my stand. I think I stained my canopy Cherry, and the stand I believe is in Oak. My question is, if I stain the oak stand in cherry, would it match my cherry canopy? Right now the oak stand is lighter than the cherry canopy. Thanks in advance guys.

sand down the one you want to change and stain it the correct color. thats the right way to do it. or you may try to stain the oak one again with the cherry and then stain the cherry one again with the oak. this might work.

Okay, I have stained both the stand and canopy in cherry. I stained the outside of the canopy twice. The oak stand is slightly lighter. In sunlight, the differences is very significant but in room light it almost matches. With the tank in the middle it looks okay. I will post pictures once I'm done with the tank.

The stand and canopy was two completely different color in the sunlight but in regular room light...it'll pass.
Canopy stained once and oak stand the way it was when I bought it.
