They were labled golden fresh water clams this is all I know.
Oh i forgot to say that who ever said not all fish would leave these alone was right. I had to move out my babie Red Terror and two africans they would not leave them alone. Now the are just in with my Exodon shoal and are fine :D

Interesting. Ok, questions time.
Where did you order them from?
Where do they come from naturally.
How big are they/do they get?
How are they fed?
Any pics?
Basically any info would be cool. heh, thanks.

What kind of subrate? Would they work in gravel or just sand?

Sand is easier, but I have them all in normal sized gravel they are fine with it.
They get only a little larger than an inch
golden in color
They filter feed and reqire almost no miantenance, but you can use invert food if you like.
I am not sure where they come from origanally. Mine came from Texas. I bought off a guy on Aquabid.com. If you want detailed info, go there and look at one of his auctions. He has a very good write up on them! I do know that they don't have a parasitic larval stage like many others. This is cool! :D I hope I helped!

Having clams is better than having crabs.
