I am wondering if i can add a loach to my tank w/ ray? I have a motoro ray, and a loach is a bottom dweller too. And i saw this loach on my lfs, about 4" and he look so nice. Nice color and stuff. Can I get any problems w/ them(loaches) if i add them as tankmates?

We have a shoal of 8 large ( 7-8" ) clown loaches in with our juvenile rays and they go well with them, but clown loaches are a shoaling species and stress when you have just one.
Clown loaches are also quite susceptible to whitespot when stressed.
They add colour and movement to the tank

I was thinking about getting 8 of them. My ray i know love live fish. I think i can have the loaches for a while and then move them to another tank.

They mix very well. I have 7 of them from 4 to 8 inches. My rays are 12 to 14" and I have had no problems at all. I do feed my rays very well so I am sure that helps. Also, I have not had any problems with ich, but I have always had an uv sterilizer.

Well I have only one in a 130g, it's about 5-6" now. Doing fine on it's own, was never stressed since I have him alone. They are fine fish, i like them a lot. They do grow slow tho, so watch the rays.

???? Clown loaches get 12" or more. easy to find 4-6" ones... actually, if you got the $$ its easy to find 10" ones. Won't be a problem with a ray.

I have 6 clown loaches and a dario loache in with my 8in P. reticulata and they all get along fine. The loaches also get the blackworms that get stuck in the drift wood.
