OK I have about 12 angels in a 190, about 2 weeks ago it seemed that 2 paired off and had a batch of eggs...went away for the weekend and came back all eggs were eaten, it made sense...

Now to the cool part came home today and saw 3 angels guarding one of the plastic (pvc outs) out pipes... It seems it was the two form the other time plus one. But I must say even last time i could not tell who was guarding the eggs.

I say all three laying eggs and guarding them. I am not sure who laid the eggs and who did the fertilizing but all three were doing it :) !

they did this for like 15 minutes then after about 20 minutes all the eggs were eaten I am not sure which angels ate them, seeing there are many and I also saw the black ghost up there snacking...anyways I thought it was pretty cool to watch the three of them.

here are some crappy photos sorry on the quality but its what i got.

Thanks!

weird and awesome!!!

I have never seen 3 fish take care of eggs like this before...I know some fish live in communities with all different ages of fry, like the some of the smaller African chiclids...
To me this is one of the strangest chiclid things I have seen...

Thats a breeding trio, very nice job. Those are worth more than breeding pairs. I have only heard of them with angelfish though where 3 of them breed at the same time. Good luck with the fry!

Wow Mormon fish who would have thought I did not even get them in Utah...I will try and take better photos hold on...

here are photos of the 3 of them plus you can see the eggs on the back wall... I don't think I have any way to save the eggs and fry if they we on the out pipe or a rock i could take them out but on the wall of the tank the eggs are gonners...

I just noticed that this pair also paired up! it might be another trio as I see one other angel hanging out near them. the cool part is is the difference in size. Ones huge the other tiny they are both the same age just different kinds i guess I never had angels before I got them for the wife and kids...

Believe it or not if you keep angels long enough you will probably see this happen it is rare they raise any fry though
