can i put these in with tinfoil barbs or is the water chemistry different.

Barbs, silver dollars...they all fit well in south american-type water.
What's a "hard bellied silver dollar" and how does it differ from the typical silver dollar, Metynnis hypsauchen? Is it Tetragonopterus argenteus, perhaps?

i know that it can get up to 10 in and has black dots on anal fin and tail.

The hard bellied are Mylossoma duriventre
I think they are called "hardbellied" because they have a narrow keel ridge of slightly over sized scales.
