New Snakehead pics

Hello everybody,


Thought i'd post up some pics of my snakehead. Some of you may remember when i first got him around september. I got him at about 3 inches and he's about 7 inches now. I also have been saying that my SH is always skittish and never comes out. Thats completely changed now. He's acting like all the other SH's i've owned are dong. He watches me when i'm lying in bed. He'll come to the glass if i put face close to it. He swims around and is doing a lot better. Today I fed him a feeder fish and i saw him for the first time EVER strike at it. Was INTENSE. Anyways here are a couple of pics

Look at his face. Kinda reminds me of a bulldog.

This is a random pic i took of two of the shrimps cleaning themselves at the same time at the same place. Thought it was quite funny.

I still don't know what species it is. When i first posted a pic of him when he was a youngen someone said it was a marulius, but i'm kinda thinking its a maruliodes. I don't kno which region he's actually from. Anyone have any idea what he is??

Thanks for the replies. Contender I'm also thinking its a maruliodes but not too sure. Do u have any pics of yours?

He's getting more and more out going everyday and more aggressive. I'm getting a new tank for him soon but i'm scaraed that when i transfer him to his new tank he's gonna become his old self again, boring and skittish.

Wow hes really pretty,he may take a while to get used to the new tank the smarter predators usually seem to get more freaked by a move than schooling fish or others

anyways, i just got back home and filmed my SH eating a small fish i put in. I'll post it tmr. I've also sent neo a video of my sh eating some dried shrimp but not easily as cool as him enhaling a small fish

would say its a Channa marulioides got the spot on the tail gets to about 2 ft + look up Emperor Snakehead should see it juvenile looks like yours

stotty after looking at the foto you posted i'm pretty much convinced that its a marulioides.

I've recently got a new tank for him I think its 50 gallons. Anyways, its pretty much done, looks kinda empty but i like it that way. I'll post new picks up soon as soon as i get a background for the tank.
