A GT question (for a change):
Anyone ever keep female GT's as a show fish? How much different are they as adults to males?
I have a male and a femal right now. The male is quite a nice specimen, but a bit aggro on his tankmates, and kinda skittish. The female isn't as attractive, and I know won't grow as big, but she's a big softy and has a great personality. I'm torn as to which one I want to keep! (only 1 tank right now). help me choose!!

I had a female, but unfortunately lost her to parasites. Though I currently have nice male specimen, the female, though not as pretty, had such an amazing personality.
Why can't you keep both?

Yeah..why not keep both? Have some babies :naughty: I think females will get to 6" I believe.

Well I have them both in the tank right now, a 75G with a pike, a severum and a bichir (all fish are still juvenile). The male GT went in last and he's picking on the others a bit, and ripped a scale of the female last night (altho its the female that seems to initiate the contact most of the time).
I'm not a fan of tanks with a lot of aggression and fighting, it stresses me out to think of any of my fish as being picked on or stressed! Which is why I'm leaning towards keeping the female without the male, although I am tempted to get the male his own tank and maybe try to breed them later...

Not sure I understand your question... The female GT is very gentle at the moment and doesn't bother any other fish, which I why I am considering keeping her and not the male. Or are you saying forget GT's altogether?
