Whats the best diet/environment for a royal pleco? Will they be ok in a 55 gallon geophagus tank? It will have sand rocks and driftwood, but what do they need for their diet? Thanks in advance

C'mon Rallysman. You've seen my panaque posts. Here's a refresher, on diet, just for you.

I feed my panaques on a mixed diet of sinking commercial catfish pellets, rabbit pellets, earthworm sticks, potato slices, kiwi fruit, frozen peas, pumpkin, squash, crayfish meat, clams, live earthworms, and the occassional channel cat fillet.
I also make sure there's lots of driftwood available for them to grind away since panaques derive some nutrient from the byproducts of the bacteria that inhabit the surface of the wood.

I guess this diet is working. My royal is pushing the 19" mark.

My royal gets a mixed diet of algae wafers, real algae that grows in the tank, tetramin dry food, asst raw veggies & bloodworms. Also wood.

Besides diet, I guess Royal pleco like strong current and therefore it is advisable to install a few powerheads this for purpose. Following is my L027b Xingu Platinum size 11"...
