So, I was doing some pruning this morning in my 110 African Planted African tank. Yeah, that's right. Planted African Tank. I was pruning the Amazon in the middle of this tank
And this is one of the leaves in relation to the size of my hand

But then I went upstairs and pulled a leaf from my Amazon Sword up there. Again in relation to my hand and also next to a bottle of wine (Signed by Ron Meeker himself, the Vintner)

Dunno. Never tried.
The big dog sent off runners about a year ago. I pulled a few early and planted them. I waited on a few more and when they were about the size of a grapefruit I planted them. I waited on 1 and finally planted it when it was the size of a volleyball. This one is on the left side of that 110 shot in the first post...

If it sends out shoots again, I have no idea what I would do with them. I don't have any more room for them. My tanks are packed...

What's your secret? CO2 injection? What kind of lighting? What kind of substrate?

Lighting on the 110 is a double 4 foot bulb fixture on a 5 foot tank. I have T-8's in there. Not sure on the wattage.
and you aren't going to believe this, but the 55 only has a single 4 foot T-10 bulb.
Neither tank gets any Co2. Both get Kent fetilizer and twice a month water changes.
The 55 gets a lot of indirect sun. The room it's in faces East. No direct sun to the tank but the room gets a lot of natural light.
I just added some Cabomba to the 55 to see how things go.
The 110 has sand as a substrate and the 55 has very small grain gravel. Nothing close to sand, but it's closer to sand than most gravel sold in the LFS. If on a scale of 1-10, Sand was a 1 in terms of size and regular gravel a 10. This stuff would be around a 3-4 range...
