I have been reading about these guys and watching the threads in fascination over the size and quality of the fish some of you folks have. I was wondering if you keepers of the gigas could chime in with a survey answer about how big yours is :naughty: and what size tank you keep them in. I thought it would be fun in one place to see how big some of these fellows can get in captivity. Some day I would hope to have a tank big enough to have one. Right now I have paima envy.

Most are posted in the arapaima thread, check it out.
A fish should get just is big in a captive environment as it does in the wild. If it doesn't, the keeper messed up.

I'll go ahead and say it - you need a bigger tank, it's not growing at a good rate.
My two year old was well over 6 feet long.
