Will that work? Mixing one Jaguar Cichlid, three Sens and one Delhz in a 125G tank?

Some sites say you can. Others say no. So I want to make sure.

So I know if when I pickup my 125G tank, in a few mos, I can look around for a Jag.

Are they cool with each other?

well there is also a 8" jd in with them, so the jag stays low key for the most part. but is def. not afraid of the bichir.

My fear was for the Bichirs. I noticed my bichirs donot exactly defend themselves...lol.

most fish don't find bichirs intimidating, i have had my ornate with 8" jd 5" geophagus and now the jag. the cichlids don't pay any attention to the bichir.

well i have a couple of 5" jaguar cichlid(and now they're spawning!) mixed with a 10" delhezi, 10" endlicheri, 10" ornate, 13" knivefish, 12" green arowana...

There is no serious problem has occured, but i found that the jaguar keep on bullying the others while the others come into their territory.. moreover since their spawn has hatched, the couple act more aggresively.

but luckily, they never cause serious wound on the bichirs

sorry for my english :D

I don't think it will work so you should send you delhezi to me for safe keeping...lol

It will work if the bichirs are introduced after the managuense. Cichlids will act very aggressively towards any new addition for the first couple days in the tank. Also, make sure the bichirs aren't significantly bigger than the jag or vise-versa.

Lol...Bichirboy.

I would just be keeping one Jag, so it wouldn't be spawning.
Or do they have to breed?

its hit or miss its working so far for me make sure you get a female jaguar introduce the cichlid second so get a good size bichir and then add a small jaguar not to small but go for around 2''-3'' depending on the size of the bichir you don't wan't anyone to get eaten

the thing is that parachromis ( the family jaguars are from ) personalitys vary hugely some are peaceful and don't bother other fish at all and other will kill any thing that moves in there tank and they are we'll equipt to do so most have large teeth and very strong jaws your much better off with larger species of polypterus but you could try a senegal with a jaguar but it may out grow it jaguars grow much faster and females get to around 14''-16'' while senegals only get around 12''

so it really is hit or miss worth a shot but once the jaguar gets around 6''-7'' watch them close

no they don't have to breed and you DON'T wan't a breeding pair if you plan on haveing tank mates for it

like killerfish said, it can be hit or miss. I had 2 jags in my 210 (other inhabitants listed in sig) and one was a little aggressive, but didn't pay any attention to the polys, only to the dats and front. I ended up getting rid of the more aggressive one. hopefully, it will get along with the others indefinitely

I'd be VERY CAREFUL with this pairing. I wouldn't worry about territorial aggression too much but I would be very very worried about predation! Jags can ASTONISH you with what they manage to fit in thier mouths. They are also pretty fast growing so I'd be very worried that he would grow large enough to eat the bichir before you ever saw it coming!

Yeah doesn't sound worth the risk to me. Thanks guys, I'd rather do my homework first then to have an awful accident later.
