Snakeheads are legal in certain states. Snakeheads are only illegal in 13 states. The Doctor.
 
Not legal to own,buy,sell,transport or posess in New York
 
illegal in NY i believe it is legal to possess if u had it b4 the ban but u cant sell or buy ans if u transport over state lines its a felony--- i believe dont quote me on that

Are you sure? I thought they were illegal in the entire US.
 
pretty sure all us banned them , there was a big lake michigan issue i belive wasnt there ?

I stand corrected. Since October 2002, snakeheads have been banned in the US. The information I first posted was from Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Channidae. In the article, it says that snakeheads are illegal as pets in 13 states. Is this true? Also, does that mean that if you had the snakeheads before the ban, you are allowed to keep them? The Doctor.
 
I believe they are illegal in the USand in the Ohio fishing regs if you catch one you have to kill it releasing one alive or keeping one alive is illegal, so I am not sure they can be grandfathered in or not
