I have a 4 inch peacock bass that I have had since September. I have been feeding him a combination of earth worms and guppy feeders. Id like to get him to eat pellets or some other type of prepared food. I tried frozen silversides tonight for the first time. I put one in my net that I ussually use to put the guppies in. He took the first one and swallowed it fine, but when I put another one in he didnt take it at first. He eventually hit it when i kept make it move around with the net. He held it in his mouth for several minutes then spit it out. I got it back in the net and he took it again but then took it to the same spot and spit it. Am I approaching this the right way? Do I just need to keep at it until he gets used to it?
Also Id love to hear from someone who has trained theirs to take pellets. Pellets would make life a lot easier as far as feeding goes. Any other feeding ideas would also be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

havent had any experiance with peacocks but i ran into the same issue with an oscar it took him almost a week to acept the pellets now he gets a variety of all foods with the exception of feeders he takes the pellets as good as if it were shrimp or any other meaty treat he likes i dont think your peacock will starve him self it will probably take a few more days he'll get hungry eough and take them i'm sure

try throwing the food into the tank. I tried getting my old 14" monos on silversides and they wouldnt touch them. If i stoof back and threw them into the tank they would hit it the second it touched the water.
