Very nice, I'm usually not a fan of the patchy black but these little brute is certainly an exception.

What's he housed in and with? ;)

He's in a 75g with about a dozen Clown loaches.

Very nice fish but honestly I think he has some Flowerhorn blood in him. Look at the pearls and the deep black. Barred Midas that fade to red won't have that intense black in the fins and tail. STILL, this is just my opinion - don't start the flaming. Thank you.

Looks to be piebald, which would explain the black.

And MAC, nice chunky fish!

He looks a lot more brighter, but that face look familiar.

This guy is a pure, both parents are stripe Midas. He just turns out a little weird lol.

He's slowly losing some of the black so don't know how much will be left once he's full grown. Right now he's about 8-9" TL.


Here's a pic of him and a female when I first received him last October at about 6".

My midas went through a few different colors before ending up how he is now... when he was 7-9" he went through puberty ;)

The overhead flash shot was done over a year ago, the last photo is recent.

This is an amazing fish! Congrats on keeping him in top condition!! I really like the "black" coloration on him - I hope that won't fade away as he grows some more.

I'm not a big fan of hybrids and think that these guys are ugly(even my GF thinks so:ROFL:) but my uncle was just giving 9 of them away for free so I decided to take'em. Figure it wouldn't hurt trying to keep them with my Midas for while to see if they'll help get his hump bigger.
