Please tell me if you think this would work? I have a very small and ugly concept working now. The concept is running in my 10g play tank with no over flow box just two intake tubes in the tank. It’s been running for about 4 hours so far no flood.

As long as you "canister" is sealed air tight you shouldn't have to worry about a flood. I don't think the spray bar in the filter is necessary.

"A" for effort!

Like itsalmosteasy said, if it's sealed it won't flood.

How big is the 'canister'?

How is the 'cotton' working out? Clogging?

How about some pix of the real thing?

Thats a simple n easy wet/dry. Your idea is a little more elaborate then you need though!!!.

Id lose the spray bar in the wet/dry. Go with a drip plate. Why run the return line through the wet/dry itself?? if the pump isnt going to be a inline pump? (i think thats what there called).

And why use cotton? if your going that route, just use polyfill from a arts and craft store or wally world.

technically it wouldnt be a canister!!

PS the writing on the purple rubbermaid IS NOT mine

^^^ this is the cheapest way i found doing it! well thats if your even planning a budget. theres no top to mine but one can easly be fabricated out of acrylic.

What you've shown looks like a sealed wet/dry. The only problem being... a sealed wet/dry doesn't breathe, so after you use up all the oxygen in the 'dry' part of the canister, there's no point anymore and it might as well be full of water.
