View Full Version : I Just Just Stole Something...
figured it would be okay here instead of the photo lounge (only 2 small pix)
oh, yeah, it's about 6" and I got it for $15. I got all three for 35 tax included. too bad they didn't have any more big ones. I went to another LFS nearby and they had some almost that big for $37 ea., but didn't get any.

Exotic Aquatics in Boulder. It's not a very clean store, so I don't always go in there and they don't have too many fish, but you never know what you're going to find. Aqua Imports is a much better store. I can't remember if you said you've been there before or not. Aqua Imports had at least 6 that were 5-6", but most looked kinda skinny (the $37 ones, which is still a decent price). The had some interesting stuff this time, including a gorgeous EBJD (and another that didn't look so nice), but i can't justify spending $60 on a 1-inch fish that can be hard to keep alive.
The guy told me $15 and my jaw about dropped. And then he said, well, let me check, I'm not sure. So, I thought, great, it's going to be a lot more, but he came back and said "yep, $15".

Nice pick up for a great price. Seems that Exotic Aquatics has been going downhill over the last year or so. Great price though.

Amazing find, that's what I look for every time I go fish shopping.Ya, that's the first I've seen that size for sale (and then I saw the others, but not near as good of a deal). One of my LFS has had a couple in their African Cichlid display tank but won't sell them and they've had them since I can remember (a few years) and they're not much, if any, bigger).

i had my mom add some salt and raise the temp over the last few days to help them not get ich and they are in her tank now. I put the 3 CL's and the YoYo in there, but decided the others were too small and needed to get a little bigger first (striata and angelicus). Hopefully, we can find some more larger ones for good deals.
so, she will have 6 loaches in a 125. should there be more and if so how many and what other types would you add?

nice steal! :D
the lfs brought in like 50 6 - 8 inchers!
Someone needs to figure out how to breed these things! It would cost me $30 for 3 clown loaches, and they'd be about 2 inches each. Large ones are $40 a piece.

You guys make me want to offer up my clowns, they pick on my plants too much even with good foods and snails. Healthy buggers 3-4 inches, but I don't really want them about anymore.

Clown loaches at a size of 5 inches and over are hard to come by and henceforth are expensive due to high demand and low supply.;)

In Finland 1,5-2'' clown loaches cost about $9-14 each.
